Keep the explanation honest and simple
Use clear, age-appropriate language. Explain that Chris will clean and carefully mark the ears, everyone will agree the placement, and there will be a very quick sharp feeling when each ear is pierced.
Avoid promising that it will feel like nothing. Honest reassurance helps children trust what you say and prevents a surprise from feeling bigger than it is.
Give them useful choices
Let an older child choose their earrings and decide whether they want to sit quietly, hold a parent’s hand or ask a question before starting. Small choices create a sense of control without making them responsible for technical decisions.
Try not to build the appointment into a test of bravery. The Certificate of Bravery celebrates showing up and taking part, not hiding their feelings.
Our comfort-first promise
Little Viper appointments take place one family at a time in a private piercing room. Chris explains each step, takes time over placement and pierces each ear individually.
We never force or rush a piercing. If your child becomes too upset or distressed, we pause and will not proceed or complete it. Their wellbeing comes before finishing the appointment.
